I decided to take photographs of Lake Baikal in winter, drove past this wonderful lake after another visit to Sobolinaya Mountain and photographed several landscapes that you will see later in the article. Photos of Lake Baikal will be especially relevant to those tourists who decide to visit the lake in the winter season and do not know what to expect, by the way, dress warmer.

Below there will be several photos where Baikal is not frozen yet, they were taken in December. When visiting the lake for the second time this winter at the beginning of February, one could already dance on the ice and are not afraid of anything. By the way, if you decide to visit the lake, then be sure to read my article resting on Lake Baikal in winter and where to stay.

The first two photographs were taken just after the first frost in November, the ice is just beginning to shackle the coast, it is very difficult to get close to the water, the stones are covered with a thin layer of ice, but I managed to touch the water, the temperature has not yet dropped to minimum marks.

On this day, the weather was lucky, the other side was visible. What surprised me a lot was the tranquility of Lake Baikal, at this time of the year the wind often blows here and the lake is constantly storming.

In the background of the photo below you can see a small ledge into the lake, what do you think it might be? Yes, this is a pier that nature turned into blocks of ice during a storm and freezing temperatures.

This is how calm Lake Baikal looks like in the winter season (end of November). Tourists who come to skiing can still admire nature and landscapes, some spend the whole day on the shore with warm tea.

The following photos of winter Baikal were taken during my last trip at the end of January, the bottom photo shows how frozen the lake is, at the moment you can drive here in a car and ride in tubes tied to a car.

In the lower photo, I have gone almost a kilometer from the coast, when you imagine that there are several hundred meters of depth under you, it becomes uncomfortable. When you feel the swaying of water under the thickness of ice and crackling, then the thought of running back to the shore already overtakes. By the way, in the background you can see the Sobolinaya Mountain ski resort.

A few days before my last visit, the weather was bad and there was a lot of rainfall, so I was able to see pure Baikal ice only in a few sculptures that you will see below.

And here is the cross, which was made for bathing in baptism, the very next day the ice-hole equaled the thickness of the snow, there was only a cross that will stand until the last winter days, well, or until the first vandal, there are more than enough of them here.

I decided to photograph the ice of Lake Baikal up close, to show how transparent and beautiful it is in the rays of the setting sun. The photo was taken near the ice bath, where tourists line up in winter, who would refuse to take a steam bath and immediately plunge into the ice hole.

And here is the ice bath itself. Having steamed, you run out of the bath and straight into the ice-hole. Many will be interested in the price, the owner takes 3 thousand rubles per hour for up to 8 people, there is also a warm yurt with a sofa and other attributes that will help you relax, the cost of a yurt is 500 rubles per hour.

On the territory of the bathhouse near the shore of Lake Baikal there are several figures, which were made by the owner of the establishment himself, as well as the whole bathhouse. In the photo below is the figure of a frozen man who is sitting on the shore of the lake.

And here is the icy composition of a frozen rose. On the territory of the bath, I counted about a dozen such figures, each of them is different in color or composition of the bouquet, very beautiful.

Well, here are just some of the photos of Lake Baikal in winter, which I decided to share on my blog, I hope you liked it. I would be grateful for using the social media buttons, I think your friends should see it too.
