Obelisk of Eternal Glory
The central and most memorable element of the memorial complex on one of the main squares of the city is the 30th anniversary of the Victory. It was opened in 1975. Monument to B. Khitrovo
In 1648, at the direction of Bogdan Khitrovo, a boyar and a gunsmith, the fortress of Sinbirsk was laid. Monument to N. Karamzin
Located in the center of the park of the same name. It was opened in 1845. The figure of the muse of history is set on a high pedestal, which inspired the famous writer N. Karamzin, a native of Simbirsk, to create the “History of the Russian State”. At the base of the monument there is a bust of the historian himself, and fragments from his life are depicted on the sides. Many craftsmen worked on the monument, assembled it piece by piece. Monument to the letter "e"
N. Karamzin was the first to use the seventh letter of the alphabet in his works. The monument is a 2-meter triangular prism made of red granite. The shape of the letter embossed on it with uneven edges and asymmetric dots completely repeats the appearance of the first "e" printed in the collection of N. Karamzin in 1796. Monument to D. Razumovsky
This monument is dedicated to the hero of our time, a lieutenant colonel of the FSB, a native of Ulyanovsk, who died during the release of hostages in Beslan in the fall of 2004. Pisarevsky depicted Ivan Goncharov sitting in an armchair and taking notes in his notebook. An interesting object appeared near the monument in 2005 - the sofa of the protagonist of the novel "Oblomov". It is made of metal-plastic in the style of the 19th century, and next to it there are Ilya Oblomov's slippers, cast by local blacksmiths.
Monument to V. Leontyeva
The monument to the popular TV presenter, the favorite of adults and children, has been decorating the park near the puppet theater since 2008. For some time V. Leontyeva lived in the Ulyanovsk region, in the village of Novoselki, where she was buried. One of the oldest monuments in Ulyanovsk. It was erected on the mass grave of soldiers and party workers who died in 1918 during the liberation of the city from the White Guards. The author of the obelisk is the architect F.E. Volsov. Made in the form of a 7-meter truncated pyramid from the Ural granite. It was opened in 1927. "Wind organ"
Located next to the Regional Philharmonic. It was created during the first festival of blacksmithing art held in Ulyanovsk. Monument to A. Matrosov
The legendary Red Army hero was brought up in an orphanage in Ulyanovsk. Therefore, it is in this city that a monument was erected to Alexander Matrosov on the territory of the park that bears his name. The sculpture depicts a fearless warrior at the moment of his fall on the embrasure of a German machine gun. Monument to Kolobok
