The picturesque landscapes and landscapes of Cyprus are what attracts many travelers to the island for thousands of years. We invite you to see the most beautiful places in Cyprus.

The landscapes of Cyprus are striking in their originality and diversity. South Cyprus is cliffs and a transparent sea, North Cyprus is a green fairy tale. But in South Cyprus, you can find islets of greenery: the Troodos mountain range with old villages and the ancient monastery of Kykkos and the Akamas reserve are perhaps the most picturesque places in Cyprus.

Beautiful places of South Cyprus

South Cyprus is famous for its seascapes, first of all, the famous Stone of Aphrodite, or Petra tou Romiou, comes to mind. An absolutely charming place - white cliffs form a strict but attractive landscape. Petra tou Romiou can rightfully be called the most beautiful seascape in Cyprus.

At the same time, the Troodos Mountains attract many travelers from all over the world both for their amazing landscapes and attractions. In the mountains, among the cool pine forests, there are fabulous old villages with snow-white houses - Lefkara, Fini, Omodos, Pedoulas, Mutullas, Zigi. Each village is famous for some kind of craft - so, Lefkara is famous for lace, and Omodos - for winemaking. There are also many monasteries and temples, the most famous of which is the Kykkos monastery, where the oldest miraculous icon of the Mother of God is kept, written during her lifetime by the Apostle Luke.

Traveling to the Troodos Mountains by car or bike, you will experience the incomparable enjoyment of the scenery of Cyprus. However, you can also conquer the mountain range on foot: in Troodos there are several routes for hikers.

On the Akamas Peninsula, you can also get around both by car and on foot. Among tourists, the so-called jeep safari on the Akamas is popular.

Akamas - an almost untouched corner of Cyprus, where endemic plants grow and many species of animals live. The reserve is under the protection of UNESCO and is famous as one of the most picturesque places in Cyprus. The peninsula is ideal for hiking, where no one will stop you from admiring the impressive landscapes of Cyprus. You can hike the Aphrodite Trail or see the critically endangered green turtles at Lara Bay.

Beautiful places of Northern Cyprus

Northern Cyprus nature somewhat different from the nature of the South - there is a sharper change in landscapes: the semi-steppe turns into mountains, and rocky shores are replaced by plantations. The diversity of flora and fauna attracts numerous tourists here.

In addition, behind the "green line" after 1974, when Cyprus was divided into South and North, there were many historical monuments: Bellapais Abbey, St. Hilarion Castle, Buffavento Castle, Famagusta, Salamis, Soli ... And all this is complemented by the stunning landscapes of Cyprus! It is not surprising that travelers, despite the difficulties, tend to get to Northern Cyprus. Here you can also see one of the most picturesque places in Cyprus - the Kyrenia Mountains and Pentadaktylos.

Unfortunately, now, in order to get to the northern part of Cyprus and appreciate its landscapes, you have to cross the buffer zone. Northern Cyprus is now occupied by the Turks, who have proclaimed the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus by nobody but Turkey.
